Want this too?

21 people want genetically modified foods (GMOs) to be labeled as such.

Currently, consumers do not have to be notified on labels that the food they are purchasing has been genetically modified. This is a bad idea. When food has been genetically modified, consumers need to know so they can make informed health decisions about whether or not to consume such food. We don't necessarily need the federal or state governments to mandate this, though that may happen if food providers do not do it voluntarily. We can put pressure on food-sellers to provide this and refuse to buy from those that don't.

Drex - It seems you and I want the same thing. Here is how we can start a ballot initiative:

ative_Referendum_and_Recall.pdf

SUMMARY:
1. We form a committee and pay $500,
2. Have a lawyer draft the law draft something like the California attachment BELOW.
3. We collect approximately 172K signatures from Arizona registered voters.

If you are truly interested I was hoping you could confirm with your counsel. I heard you know a good lawyer. As a starting point, here is California's,CALIFORNIA RIGHT TO KNOW GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOOD ACT. I think we can look at this proposed law as a starting point for Arizona.....?

I could work on pulling together volunteers from my connections with large group of backyard chicken farmers & Weston A Price Foundation, Millions against Monsanto, and a large network of Arizona yoga studios to set up signature booths.

I am NOT political, but this is something, I believe the world needs. Let it begin with us.

I know that this request has NOT gone viral, but this is a cause I believe in and I hope you do too.

BTW - part of the reason it isn't viral, is that no one on can vote on my post with just one click. They are forced to register before they can vote. There are 44 people who have made comments on my 'Ask for It" post on facebook.

Hope you read this......

One of Obama's campaign promises was to have Genetically Modified Foods labeled for consumers. To date, that hope has not been realize. Nor has the designation of "raw milk" as being a controlled substance and illegal to transport across state lines. See this interesting link on the issues:

Note Ask For It does not take part in partisan politics. This link provides an outlook to widen the perspective of the issue. Receiving this link as a point of politicking would be missing the point Ask For It's goal and purpose entirely. (just an FYI about AFI)
