17 people want Reasonable immigration reform that is founded on principles of faith, not fear; fact, not fiction; family, not factions.
We are all brothers and sisters. Might the economic crisis be mitigated if our efforts and ingenuity were focused on creating a reasonable means for honest people to work and contribute to society without fear of persecution or deportation? Imagine how quickly vacant homes and apartments would fill up with rent paying workers and their families who currently dwell with one or more other families under the same roof if the bread winners were allowed to work? Imagine the tax revenue that could be generated from those rents and those workers. We can document the undocumented in a manner that allows them to contribute without necessarily becoming citizens. Is it the depletion of social benefits we fear? Is it the criminal element of the undocumented we fear? Is it the foreign language we fear? Whatever the fear may be, we can certainly create enforceable, meaningful, sustainable and workable solutions to overcome that fear if that is what we really want to do. Solutions are within our grasp if we will reach out. Will the real statesmen and stateswomen please step forward and focus on what's right rather than who's right.

do work solutions keep human, drug, terror, and weapons trafficking out?
yes, i agreed with this post, because i think we need to change our attitudes, our language and our hearts on this issue and provide work solutions, but as a person who lived in a country and had his visa pulled, i elected to respect that nation and its citizens and leave the country, even though i was making $35/hour with free rent at the time.
the real answer is social programs and entitlements. that is why a large majority comes here.
So, yes, I agree with you in theory, but it is much more complicated than spelled out above and I think it's belittling to tell people they "fear" all those things you listed.
